James Company Contemporary Art Projects is on a mission to support and foster global creative health - one collection, one exhibition and one artist at a time

James Company is led by its Founder and Chief Curator Katherine Gass Stowe.  Katie is a highly seasoned curator and advisor who has put together dozens of private and public collections, installations, and related programming for clients worldwide.  She was the Global Art Curator for Jumeirah Group from 2007 - 2012, where she expanded a multi-platform art program she created for Jumeirah Essex House and branded it Culturally Connected.  The new program was a blueprint to be implemented by Jumeirah properties across three continents to engage and actively support their local art communities.  Katie has been the New York collections curator for Bank of America since 2002.  She has held posts at The Whitney Museum and the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum.  She has an M.A. in the History of American Art Advocacy from The Gallatin School at New York University and has served on the Board of Directors of Skowhegan School for Painting and Sculpture, Maine, and SculptureCenter, New York.  Katie is a member of the Association of Professional Art Advisors and Art Table, the leading organization for women in the arts.  Most recently she developed a collection for the award-winning The Beekman, A Thompson Hotel, in New York City.  She is currently launching Cause Curating an innovative curatorial program designed to align corporate missions and identity through art.
