ARTEM HOLDINGS

SPECIALISTS IN EVENT MANAGEMENT CONSULTING
ABOUT

Artem Holdings is an independent, privately funded global events, conferences, and consulting company headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Initially rooted in the arts, the company has expanded to include a life sciences vertical, particularly addressing the growing demand for patient recruitment in emerging clinical trial hubs in EECCA (Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia). The company name reflects this creative foundation, derived from the etymology of the word art, where Artem is the accusative form of the Latin ars, meaning “art.” This spirit of ingenuity and collaboration drives our work in bridging various disciplines from art and culture to life sciences, tackling global challenges.

RACHEL REKKAB, FOUNDER

Born and raised in Singapore with Algerian descent, Rachel Rekkab founded Artem Holdings in November 2016.

Rachel has over twelve years of experience in the events, exhibitions, and real estate industries.

She began her career in business-to-business events and exhibitions in 2006 with marcus evans Group, the world’s leading business intelligence company, headquartered out of London, UK. She was formerly the Regional Sales Manager Sponsorship for APMEA, based in Singapore for over eight years. Under her leadership, the sponsorship division experienced outstanding growth, with revenue increasing more than two-fold. She also successfully developed the company’s construction, real estate, and hospitality portfolio in China and the Middle East, which witnessed double digit revenue and profit growth every year for the eight years of her tenure.

Rachel moved to Dubai in 2014 and worked for one of the largest real estate developers in the region before returning to the events and exhibitions industry with the idea of combining the world of art with architecture, culture and finance on one single platform, using her various expertise acquired over the years. This led to the formation of UNFOLD Art XChange, an unparalleled B2B art business conference and summits platform.

WHAT WE DO

Founder Rachel Rekkab established Artem Holdings with the aim of creating one of the largest multicultural exchange platforms across various disciplines that brings together diverse communities from local, regional and international landscapes to share ideas and best practices. Her combined knowledge, experience and visionary approach has resulted in the inception of UNFOLD Art XChange, and most recently UNFOLD CT (Clinical Trials) XChange in 2024.

Building on the legacy of the highly successful UNFOLD Art XChange, Rekkab is bringing her expertise to the world of lifesciences after a three- year hiatus with the launch of UNFOLD CT XChange and its inaugural webinar series 'Emerging Clinical Trial Hubs in EECCA (Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia)' in 2025 sponsored by Paspigioni, a full service CRO, founded in Tbilisi, Georgia in 2015.

UNFOLD Art XChange had witnessed significant success since the launch of its inaugural edition in 2018 that took place at the Five Palm Jumeirah, Dubai connecting over 200 participants, including art market professionals, government authorities, non-profits, real estate developers, architects, hoteliers, wealth managers and financiers. The summit addressed key themes such as the intersection of art, architecture and real estate, corporate art collecting, and  art as an emerging asset class.

In 2019, UNFOLD Art XChange earned the distinction of being commissioned by Her Royal Highness, Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of the King of Bahrain to launch the world premiere of the Art + FinTech summit as part of the 4th edition of Bahrain's foremost art fair, ArtBAB. This event gathered over 70 cultural institutions, fintech specialists (in the area of blockchain, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, virtual reality), and financial institutions from 20 countries over four days. It was a major success and was featured in Forbes.

In response to the pandemic, UNFOLD Art XChange pivoted to virtual programming, launching Art + FinTech 2.0 as a webinar series throughout the month of June in 2020. The series brought together 50 industry leaders as speakers and attracted over 300 paying delegates. Topics such as the online art market, new media art, blockchain, and NFTs were discussed, setting the stage for the global surge in interest these subjects saw in 2021.
