Jesse Brackenbury leads the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, the non-profit that manages the Rose Kennedy Greenway, a signature contemporary public park. Jesse manages the Conservancy’s public-private partnership, reimagining the use of public space with a keen understanding of The Greenway’s position as an economic driver, a front-yard for neighbors, and a destination for visitors. Jesse works with the Board of Directors on strategic planning and revenue generation, and he oversees organizational management and external relations. Under Jesse’s leadership, the Conservancy added acclaimed offerings including the landmark Greenway Carousel at The Tiffany & Co. Foundation Grove, the Mobile Eats Program, the free Wi-Fi network, and Boston’s first beer garden in a public park.

The Conservancy has become a leader in temporary exhibitions of contemporary public art with installations from renowned artists including Os Gemeos, Janet Echelman, Ai Weiwei, Lawrence Weiner, and Mehdi Ghadyanloo. The Conservancy’s programming, organic horticulture practices, and public art have all won awards under his stewardship. Jesse was recognized by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce as one of the 2015 “Ten Outstanding Young Leaders” and by the Boston Business Journal as one of their 2014 “40 under 40” honorees. He serves on the state’s Public Market Commission. He previously served on the Downtown Waterfront Municipal Harbor Plan Advisory Committee and the Governor’s Public Art Task Force. 

Jesse joined the Greenway Conservancy as Chief Operating Officer in 2009 and has led the Conservancy since 2013. Jesse has also worked for The Boston Consulting Group, the City of New York Department of Parks and Recreation, United Nations World Food Programme in Italy.
