Eric Tomich is a Senior Architect with over 34 years of experience, leading the technical design at Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture.

His attitude to project work adopts a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary approach coupled with the expectation of yielding the best possible result in working as part of a design collective that assimilates the diverse inputs of technology, manufacturing, specialist expertise and craft.  His career has included a strong focus on built projects and the quality of the final result.

His experience encompasses a range of project types and scales, including supertall, mixed use, commercial, civic, hospitality and health care projects. He has completed projects in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and his global diversity of international project experience yields a very broad perspective that has informed his work worldwide.

One of the most significant projects in his portfolio is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, now the tallest building the world, where he functioned as the Dubai‐based Project Director, guiding all aspects of the project technical design and coordination from commencement to completion of the project.  Eric was previously an Associate Director at Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill (SOM).

Due to his history of on‐site experience in the Middle East and other large‐scale, highly complex projects, he is currently leading the Dubai based AS + GG team on the Al Wasl Plaza Project, which will form the centerpiece of the EXPO 2020 Dubai, and function as the performance and central public space for the entire exhibition.
