A community of over 40 speakers from 20 countries; primarily Cultural leaders and Founders of FinTech, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality startups gathered together for a series of panel discussions, interviews and debates at ArtBAB from the 7-9 March 2019. Some of the FinTech issues discussed were the role of Blockchain tools in building a more transparent art market as well as existing use cases including using blockchain powered provenance registries for the major auction houses. Others covered fractional ownership of the works of art and its potential for the Chinese market adoption. AI was presented both as a creative tool and a predictive analytics and investment solution for collectors. VR discussions uncovered how this technology is helping to blur the geographical borders and allowing thousands of people to see works of art that were previously available only to a few.
